A major application (MA) is
| “ | an application that requires special attention to security due to the risk and magnitude of harm resulting from the loss, misuse, or unauthorized access to or modification of the information in the application. An MA is distinguishable from a GSS [general support system] by the fact that it is a discrete application, whereas a GSS may support multiple applications.[1] | ” |
