Definition

A sybil attack (also known as pseudospoofing) occurs when

the attacker creates multiple identities (sybils) and exploits them in order to manipulate a reputation score.[1]

Overview

"For example, multiple identities can be used to provide positive reputation feedback to one designated identity, whose reputation increases in an untruthful way (ballot stuffing, i.e. reputation fraud)."[2]
