A system entity is

“ [a]n active part of a system — a person, a set of persons (e.g., some kind of organization), an automated process, or a set of processes (see: subsystem) — that has a specific set of capabilities.[1] ”

Military

A system entity is "[a] system subject (user or process) or object."[2]
